What craft do you work with?

I run Cadfan Ceramics. I previously run workshops across Swansea but due to increasing demand have recently opened my own studio in the city centre.

What is the focus of your practice?

I run a low impact & sustainable pottery studio. Working with materials taken from the earth, I avoid hazardous materials (such as lead and barium), using lower glaze temperatures to reduce the studios carbon footprint.

I reuse all clay in the studio taking responsibility for my impact – no matter how small.

What activities do you run at your studio?

I offer six week courses (on Wednesdays 6-8pm) in Hand Building, Pinch Pot, Coil and Slab. The studio is a place of tranquillity and community, the carefully curated space provides a perfect environment for beginners to those who wish to practice with clay on a more regular basis. Once you’ve managed to master the art, there’s an option to become a member, which includes access to the facilities plus use of the studio’s equipment and firing oven. I also cater for parties and one-to-one mentoring sessions.
