The 3rdInternational Exhibition “Crafthub Investigating craft practices across Europe” has been successfully concluded, leaving behind a joyful cultural impact!

OECON Group, Business Consultants in collaboration with the Cultural Venue of Islahane and within the framework of the European project CraftHub.eu, fostered the creation of a vibrant space for the promotion of culture and creativity, making the International Exhibition the ideal place for the exchange of ideas and experiences.

The Crafthub project was born of a shared passion for Craft, its heritage, culture and

traditions; its practice, materials, innovation and experimentation.

Co-funding by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union has enabled us to deliver a wide-ranging programme of activities including: the creation of a material library; craft maker residencies; workshops for new and established makers; tutorial films; maker interview films; a touring exhibition; a conference; a festival and much more.

The core Crafthub partnership comprises nine partners from diverse fields of expertise, including practice, education, research, advocacy and business; all committed to the vision of introducing craft to new audiences, new makers, new enthusiasts, and importantly, new markets, whilst supporting and advocating on behalf of established makers.

The city, during the fortnight, 7-21 June, had the opportunity to be filled with creativity and love for art. In total, the events became the starting point of an exciting experience for 1600 visitors, who had the opportunity to investigate in person the unique works of crafters from every corner of Europe and to be inspired by the unique techniques and skills on display. At the same time, during the exhibition, adults and kids had the opportunity to participate in workshops and cultural guides, enjoying a complete cultural experience.

The exhibition was curated by CUBE NGO and CrafTopia Hub. The exhibition was placed under the auspices of the Tourist Promotion Organization & Marketing of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, the Municipality of Thessaloniki and of the Culture Center of the Central Macedonia Region.
