Info
Makers, curators, researchers and academics are invited to contribute presentations for the Craft Hub Conference October 26 & 27th on site at Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway, and online November 1st of 2023.
Craft Hub is a European Union project co-funded by Creative Europe focused on craft in the context of cultural heritage and its continuing relevance in contemporary practice. Craft Hub partners are Carlow County Council, University of Wales, Glasmaleri Peters Studios, Materahub, Design School Kolding, Craft Scotland, Nova School of Science & Technology, OECON and Oslomet – Oslo Metropolitan University.
The conference for the Craft Hub project aims to raise awareness of the role of craft in society in the broadest sense. Keynote speakers and lecturers will be selected from this open call and from the 9 partners in Craft Hub. Conference presenters are invited to provide perspectives on the many roles of craft and making disciplines in society. The conference is an opportunity to share outcomes from the project and to discuss the potential for the future development of Craft Hub, for example through education or the EU plan of New European Bauhaus.
Selected presenters who are interested will be invited to publish an academic article based on their presentation in the peer-reviewed research journal (link to) FormAkademisk or to make a podcast published at www.crafthub.eu.
