Specific Technique

Working with 6cm struts of aluminium I filed, emeried and sandblasted the metal before putting it through the process in order to created a matt finish. The aluminium struts are then submerged in an electrolytic solution bath with a cathode attached to the inside of the bath. An electrical current is then passed through the bath. Oxygen then starts to form on the surface of the anode. This lets the metal oxide film grow on the surface of the aluminium. After anodising, the metal is very porous allowing it to be dyed. The colour is then sealed using steam.

Process & Production

I am a maker; of forms, of spaces, of sensations.

My practice predominantly occupies 3D space in the realms of sculpture, installation or wearable art. Form, space and texture resonate deeply with me and I feel challenged to create immersive experiences through these elements. With training in Millinery and Jewellery & Objects, my practice often involves the physical manipulation of 2D materials into 3D forms and structures to evoke an emotional response in the viewer, in a subtle yet dramatic style.
