Process & Production

The pieces of crumpled paper hold on to the liquid clay and are arranged in a plaster mould to stick together and dry. Then bisque fired at appr. 1000 degrees Celsius. The paper burns away during the firing process and leaves us with an object made from clay, with the material structure of paper pieces. After bisque, a glossy translucent ceramic glaze is added, before a second high temperature firing.
