Working on antique and deadstock antique linen, latex coated cotton with natural mineral pigment. The project experiments with stitch and cutwork on faded print, to reimagine a new aesthetic for used cloth. Looking at the concept of something not being broken, but being fractured. Therefore easily repaired through intervention.

Specific Technique

Cloth that has been coloured by direct application & screen print, faded through use and laundering is then cut, sewn, embroidered and reconstructed.

As well as combined with latex coated cotton to add layering, durability and create a solid - unprinted base.
