Culture & Context
The work is a personification of the Julian whale, the Pleistocene fossil found in 2006 on the banks of the San Giuliano dam, a few kilometers from Matera.
Process & Production
Artwork carved on linoleum sheet, then inked by roller and passed inside a hand press. The process allows the ink to transfer from the linoleum matrix to the etching paper.
