Process & Production
First, I divided the stenciling paper into rectangles of different sizes, so that a regular easy pattern emerged. Then I cut out this pattern with stencil scissors. After this, it was time to cut the glass. So I chose different glasses of various shades of purple with and cut them with the help of the templates. After this I prepared the cut glasses in the correct order on a wooden table. Afterwards I thought about, which thickness of lead I wanted to use and where they should be in my lead glazing. Then I cut various strips of lead and leaded the glasses in the following order and nailed some of them down to prevent them from slipping. When I had finished inserting the lead strips, I cut off all the protruding strips with the lead knife. As a finishing touch I put a U-lead around the edge of the glazing. Then I smoothed out all the lead profiles with a reamer and pressed them on whit it. Finally I used a thin strip of lead sheet to simulate three leaking leads and then soldered all the lead crossings with a soldering iron.
