An Ikat design in checkerboard pattern is extensively planned to have an even amount of threads in each block. Silk warp resist is tied with plastic bags in a planned pattern then dyed using acid dyes. Silk weft yarns are dip dyed in small hanks to create uneven weft threads. Block threaded warp, design woven in warp and weft faced twill pattern in square grids.
