Leno weave with twisting red warp thread

Experiment

The sample is woven on a dobby handloom using beads to create the leno effect. Leno weave creates an open transparent yet strong construction. This sample is created with a method that allows the red warp thread to cross back and forth while the white warp thread is kept stable. The red thread defines the pattern and movement in the sample. The weft is a black paper yarn.
