Experimentation using transparent blue  enamels on sterling silver sheet.
First firing the entire face is coated with transparent blue enamel.
Second firing – transparent enamel powder is sifted on top.
The metal softens as part of the firing process resulting in flat sheet curving a little.
I experimented by shaping the metal on purpose in a doming block before enamelling. This caused the enamel to pool in the bottom of the curve.
