Purl knit sample #29

Experiment

Research

This sample is made on a digital knitting machine (Stoll flat bed, 12-gauge) experimenting with texture and ornamentation in purl stitch. The purl knit sample is one in the series of many in the exploration of how a few changes in the stitch pattern may result in a different experience of the material being made of the same yarn. This can be seen in the look of the different samples and in the feel of the materials, as the changes of stitches change the density, elasticity and shape of the textile.
