Culture & Context

traditionally stone setting is carried out after the wax has been melted and replace with a precious metal, here I have cast the stones, in this cast Diamond, in place at the time of casting

Process & Production

The ring was formed using pink wax and the diamonds were set using traditional stone setting techniques. Seats were burred out to house the diamonds and then wax rubbed over to hold the stones in place.Cast in the lost wax process there is a large risk to losing the stones or cracking or damaging them

Recipe Details

Pink wax formed in to a ring blank before joining and finishing using hand techniques.
