When I was 10, I stumbled across an outlet for my passion on a family holiday to Connemara.

Artist Statement

Since graduating I have worked with some of Ireland’s finest designers and my work was recently featured on ‘Home of the Year 2022’.  I employ a sustainable approach to my practice, utilising locally sourced and FSC certified materials, matching the qualities of the wood to the space they will occupy. Bespoke is at the essence of my work and this permeates throughout the making process resulting in a piece of handcrafted fine furniture that embraces the customers lifestyle.

What craft do you work with?

I walked in awe around the student exhibition in GMIT Letterfrack and knew that wood and design would be my future.

What inspires you to work with this craft?

Based on the concept of an inside out whiskey cask, I created a wall mounted whiskey cabinet which is designed to be a conversational piece while you sit and share your favourite whiskey with a friend or two.Black stained coopered stave doors with a wire brushed texture, the rest of the cabinet is silky smooth and finished in raw Osmo oil. Steel hinges and a tapered inbuilt handle tie in with its inspiration the whiskey cask. The piece is made from Quercus Alba (American oak) the same material used to age bourbon and Irish whiskeys.
