Description

Design School Kolding is a higher education institution situated in Kolding, Denmark educating future designers on BA, MA and PhD level. The BA programs offered have disciplinary focus: Textile design, Clothing and fashion design, Accessory design, Industrial design, Communication design, while the MA programs have interdisciplinary focus: Design for Planet, Design for People, Design for Play. The MA programs are linked to our three research and development groups, Lab for Sustainability and Design, Lab for Social Design and Lab for Play and Design.

Through our educational, development and research programs, the school represents and supports a diversity of crafts, incorporating a broad range of material resources and using multiple techniques – analogue as well digital – in our well-equipped workshops. These cover workshops for e.g. knitting, weaving and printing, leather- and fur-work, wood- and metal-work, 3D manufacturing. We believe that practice-based teaching – and thereof learning – with emphasis on direct engagement with materials and techniques through craft.
