Fabio

I am a Jewellery Designer and Maker based in Cork City, creator and owner of Mo Ghrian – Jewellery Art, I found my path here on the Emerald Isle. The love for different-looking gemstones brought me to the makers' world and since then I could not stop diving into the most creative paths and technical practices, learning, learning and learning and so far there are no intents to stop.Working mainly with Sterling Silver, Gold and precious gems, I encountered a way to express myself through unique pieces trying to create something new on every occasion, valuing the one-of-a-kind concept. The non-usual designs are recognisable by the marriage between fluid shapes and eye-catching gems. Influenced by Art Nouveau, Visionary Art and Music, I evolve and create my own artistic path.

Q&A

Artist Statement

A free soul jewellery designer and maker, now nestled amidst the verdant hills of Cork. I am Fabio, the creator and owner of Mo Ghrian – Jewellery Art.My love for the rare and exquisite gems of the earth led me to the makers’ world. And in the year 2020, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, studying under the tutelage of the masterful Luciana Preuss from Brazil and honing my craft at St. John’s College in Cork. It was a year and a half of learning, growing, and perfecting my art. Finally, I emerged, reborn as a jewellery designer, ready to unveil my unique creations to the world.Mo Ghrian – Jewellery Art values the one-of-a-kind concept, and I pour my heart and soul into every piece I create. Sterling Silver, Gold and precious gems are my chosen mediums, and through them, I express my deepest thoughts and emotions. Art Nouveau, Visionary Art, and Music are my muses, forever inspiring me to push the limits of design and craftsmanship. My pieces are as individual as the gems that adorn them. Each creation is born of the moment, never to be replicated. Through the beauty of handcrafted jewellery, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own unique style and express themselves fearlessly. Meanwhile, I’ll keep playing and evolving signing pieces as wearable poetry.

What craft do you work with?

Two years and a half since I started my crafter journey. currently, I am delighted to play with Keum Boo technic in contrast with darkened silver.

What inspires you to work with this craft?

My creative process is always guided by music, and I choose to work with precious metals perhaps because like the music they can last generations. the curve notes I translate into my pieces and the euphoric moments shine through my gems.

How do you start your creative process?

As a meditative process, creating is a moment of connection and translation, it’s not the easiest to do but the reward is priceless.

How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?

I work from a creative hub called benchspace, where I connect and share knowledge with other makers, it is a real pleasure. If I could only pick one tool(s) to live with, it would be pen and paper.

Are there new techniques you would like to try?

Engraving and more intricate stone setting.

What have you learnt or the best advice you have received that you would like to share with fellow crafters?

The most obvious advice is perhaps the most important one… Keep swimming! Everything comes for those who put the effort in. I would love to try a collab with fine woodworkers and see a good way to integrate wood and metal, valuing art and material. I dream to master some techniques such as engraving and stone setting, and hopefully, one day grow my brand to a point to open the doors to other artists and see everyone growing together.
