Q&A

Artist Statement

Botanical Gardens is part of a series of collages made from my linocuts and woodcuts printed on vintage Irish linen.
I sewed all the small pieces into position by hand and I used embroidery to focus on the details of the plants. I printed each element myself here in my studio.
I love visiting gardens of all sorts. This piece was inspired by Victorian glass houses which are used to exhibit all sorts of exotic plants.
