Lino prints inspired by places and moments in time, often encased within vessel silhouettes in bright contrasting colours.
Q&A
Artist Statement
I make illustrative linocut prints that celebrate places and moments in time, often a collection of scenes woven together within the silhouette of a vessel. I enjoy creating prints with a puzzle piece approach – inking up individual blocks of lino in bold contrasting colours, slotting them together and printing as a whole. This means my prints contain large areas of block colour – a strong base for the white intricate details. I love the process of creating linocut prints. The carving is slow and calming. I find the first time ink is rolled across the hand carved surface extremely rewarding, and those times you peel back the paper to reveal something you’re proud of still feel like magic. |
