Kalirroi Mastichiadou

I am Kalirroi Kalliopi Mastichiadou and was born and live in Athens Greece. I studied Mathematics at the University of Patras. My father was a well known engraver in Greece and I worked by his side from a very young age. Painting, printing and making things with our hands was a very common and joyful practice in my childhood and I never stopped doing it. I make pictures with colored pencils, inks and homemade colors on prepared paper or fabric. I have participated in many exhibitions and local fairs.

Artist Statement

I hope that someday maybe I will make something that has a little of the joy of children playing outdoors, of the vivacity of open air markets or the beauty of a boat floating in the dusk.

What craft do you work with?

I work with prepared paper or fabric and inks, pensils and homemade colors. My pictures are small non
verbal stories.
