MEROPI VERVERI

My name is Meropi Ververi, and I am a weaver and designer based in Thessaloniki. My passion for weaving art comes from a family heritage passed down from my grandmother. I studied interior design and worked in the field for 17 years, collaborating with many companies in Thessaloniki, where I completed various projects, including boutique hotels, villas, and more. In 2020, I established my own studio and brand called PENELOPE, where I create modern designs on traditional Greek looms using raw materials and techniques originating from Greece. I have collaborated with other brands to create unique and sustainable products. I have also participated in team exhibitions to present woven textiles as a form of art. My approach to weaving is unique, as I strive to infuse modern design into traditional techniques. I am committed to using only the finest raw materials, such as Greek wool and silk, directly sourced from local producers. This not only ensures the quality of our products but also supports sustainable and environmentally conscious practices. All my products are created on traditional Greek-made manual wooden looms, reflecting my professional journey and showcasing the timeless beauty of hand-weaving. I believe that each piece tells a story and is a work of art.
