Terese Pauli Svendsen
I work mainly with ceramics and textiles. I love an object with good form and function. Very often my objects are simplistic and I thrive to design objects that have a long lifespan, where the material, function and aesthetic can last for a long time.
Q&A
What craft do you work with?
Woven textiles, mainly in woll, and ceramics. I have worked with wool my whole life, but just startet doing ceramics a few years ago. My favourite technique depends on my mood. For the moment it’s different woven bindings.
What inspires you to work with this craft?
I have always done some sort of craft. I specially love the crafts where I can use wool. So yes, wool is my favourite material.
How do you start your creative process?
I gather inspiration, maybe I do some sketching and from then I experiment.
How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?
I like it neat and tightly. But now and then I ends up beeing a mess. If it’s too messy I’m not able to work.
Are there new techniques you would like to try?
Right now I would like to learn about textile dyeing
What have you learnt or the best advice you have received that you would like to share with fellow crafters?
My teacher at university told me this: When in doubt, just do! You can think and decide later.
