Inspired by Alhambra tile pattern

Process & Production

Circle of 15cm diameter float glass 4mm thick
Stencil design created in illustrator, printed and transferred to silkscreen 77 mesh.
Black enamel (Degussa firing paint) mixed with screen print medium and screen printed onto tinned side of float glass and fired to 630C (top temperature) with a 10 minute soak.
White enamel (Degussa firing paint) mixed with screen print medium and open mesh screen printed over black image and fired to 630C (top temperature) with a 10 minute soak.
Glass circle slumped into plaster mould in kiln.
