Process & Production

  • The form’s pieces were plasma cut from 1mm mild sheet steel.
  • They then shaped over an anvil, before being spot welded together.
  • Next, the form was then sandblasted, before having a ‘grip coat’ applied and kiln fired at 815°C for two minutes.
  • After cooling, a second layer of white enamel was applied to the form’s surface and allowed to dry.
  • The design was then drawn onto the surface of the form using sgraffito technique, before being kiln fired again at 815°C for two minutes.
