Process & Production
Mortar with blue colour pigments is cast onto a piece of crumpled household aluminium foil. The high amount of aluminium oxide on the surface of the aluminium foil causes a chemical reaction like how certain types of etching chemistry for clogged drains works. The result is a change of colour as the blue mortar turns brown.
