Process & Production

After adding silicone arms to my hot-sculpted glass hands, I began to use an airbrush with thinned-down, transparent silicone to blend the two materials together.

Through many layers of this, the visual seam-line where the silicone and glass meet becomes blurry as the materials appear to transition into each other.

Recipe Details

Silicone can be thinned down to varying viscosities by using solvents such as Naphtha, mix small amounts at a time.

Pot life of the thinned silicone can be prolonged if kept covered in the freezer.
