Culture & Context
The necklace is inspired by the figure of the Greek poetess Sappho. the Greek myth, with its figures and archetypes, nurtured my childhood imagination. I have tried to translate that fascination into the design and creation of the jewelry. Sappho is a figure as real as she is legendary because she is the creator of Greek lyric poetry and of a poetic circle that has been a source of inspiration for ancient and contemporary writers.
