Culture & Context

A sample created for Clerkenwell Design Week to demonstrate the effect of mixing handspun yarns with commercially produced yarns and how this type of fabric could be used to create a feeling of calm within a work environment.

Process & Production

Handwoven on the studio loom with a mix of handspun yarns and commercially produced yarns. The combination created a very textured effect without being overly obvious. The subtle plant dyed colours were chosen to create a feeling of calm and connection to nature.Sample woven larger than needed as there was a high level of shrinkage when washed.
