Culture & Context

Traditionally jewellers have used wax for component parts in jewellery such as settings for stones and complete pieces such as wedding bands. The art of lost wax casting has been a common practice for thousands of years.

Process & Production

I like to sketch ideas based on the pictures I take, but when I work in wax I work from memory, this allows me to interpret my designs in a free-flowing way and not create carbon copies of my sketches. My work is  a mix of one-off pieces and simple component shapes which I assemble in different ways to create unique pieces.

Recipe Details

Using a mixture of blue, green and purple waxes, i carve and create a range of necklaces, brooches and earrings. I am able to melt my scrap into a mould to reuse so nothing goes to waste.
