Inger-Elisabeth Belsjø Thorud

I love working with my hands and throw my self in new creative directions. Mostly my project involves needle and thread but I also love discovering all other possibilities out there.

Q&A

What craft do you work with?

Often, I work with some form of craft that involves seam, but I do also enjoy varying my craft. The possibilities you can create is many, it is only your fantasy that stops the possibilities.

How does your creative process start?

My prosses starts with inspiration search, fast sketches, and test pieces. I let my inspiration and work mix until I get to the final design I want to create.

How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?

How further I am into my work, how messier my workspace gets. But my mess is not just a mess, it is also inspiration for when I get stuck.

Are there new techniques you would like to try?

As an exploratory person I won’t throw down an offer to explore a new technique. I believe in transfers values, and though a technique my seams boring, there is a god possibility it can be helpful in another context.

What have you learnt or the best advice that you would like to share with fellow crafters?

If you get stuck, keep on working with another part of the project, the answer or inspiration you were looking for might show up.
