I particularly like creating patterns which use elements of my Aran and Irish heritage in a new way. Knitting as a textile craft has often been overlooked, yet the Aran knitting style creates an instantly recognisable and definably Irish image.

Artist Statement
I have had designs published in UK & US publications, and was recently invited to contribute to a special anniversary issue of Knotions knit & crochet magazine. |
What inspires you to work with this craft?
The scarf is inspired by the old Celtic hieroglyphic language of Ogham – the earliest known form of written language in Ireland. It was originally carved onto the corners of standing stone pillars, many of which can still be seen today in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The carved letters are read from bottom to top. |
