Process & Production
Using a combination of premade leather hard and soft brick as the base, the brick was carved, and reassembled through a technique of knotting. The leather hard exterior contained the softer clay. The rope was then wrapped around the leather hard exterior and when pulled tight, it is slightly marked with the remnants of the rope, whilst the soft interior is contorted from the action of the rope tightening.
A series of three pieces.
This is based on a technique used in previous work.
