The glass undergoes a special firing schedule that transforms the glass from a glassy transparent material into a crystalline material that looks and behaves more like a stone or a ceramic material. The glass material is still hydrophobic and does not absorb any water. It is no longer transparent but has aesthetic features that can be semi-transparent.
