Wool delaine and cotton/silk samples dyed with eucalyptus leaves and over dyed with juniper (leaves, twig and berries). Collected in La Isleta and dyed in Orgiva, southern Spain. Protein fibres pre mordanted with alum. Cellulose two step pre mordanted with oak gall powder and alum.

Process & Production

Chopped eucalyptus leaves, soaked in boiling water. One hour dye extraction at 80C. Removed leaves, added fibres and left overnight in dye bath. Over dyed with strong juniper dye bath.

Protein fibres pre mordanted with aluminium potassium sulfate @ 15% WOF.

Cellulose fibres – two step pre mordanted with oak gall powder @12%WOF  and aluminium potassium sulfate @ 20% WOF.
