Glazing traditional Azulejo tiles

I was inspired by the local flora and wanted to try something differnt with the tiles that we were given to glaze. I like layering in my own work and enjoy printing and printmaking and wanted to combine these techniques with the traditional Azulejo tiles.

The sample was created by glazing the tiles white and the laying the flowers and leaves on top to act as resists. I then stippled green glaze over the white glazed tiles which created the image of the flowers as a negative space.
