Leno weave in multicolor wool with variation in weft density

Experiment

The sample is woven on a dobby handloom using beads to create the leno effect. Leno weave creates an open transparent yet strong construction. Red, yellow and d. blue wool is used in the warp to create a rich color palette. IN the weft a black paper yarn creates a solid construction. IN areas the weft density is high while in other areas the weft density is spaced out allowing for a more transparent texture as a part of the pattern.
