Q&A

What craft do you work with?

I love to work with creating pleats through molds. I learned the craft from Karen, Maison du Pli in Paris. I have worked with it in my spare time over the past 5 years. I took a bunch of classes with Karen teaching pleats and then he invited me to Paris to work with him.

A short sentence to add as the short description

I love to work with creating pleats through molds.

What inspires you to work with this craft?

It is very detailed and you can create some amazing texture in the fabric. I have started to use CLO 3D to make quick prototypes to figure out which application it is suitable for. And it is not something everyone can learn over a short time.

How do you start your creative process?

I like to frame the issue I am working with and also try to note what is at stake and who is the stakeholders. I tend to stay in the research part for too long and I have difficulty making decisions.

How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?

I have a lot of sewing machines because I am also a tailor. I have 2 knitting machines, big cutting tables, etc. I wouldn’t go without a pencil, scissors, rulers, and a bone for folding.

Are there new techniques you would like to try?

I would like to learn more about how to use artificial intelligence in combination with craft.

What have you learnt that you would like to share with fellow crafters?

After my trip to Paris with Karen, I’ve learned to divide the day into two parts. One that requires focus and one that is more active. By blocking my time I tend to get more done and I feel better.
