KONSTANTIA VLACHIDOU
Constantia Vlachidou, is an artist, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In her artistic work she investigates her basic visual material which is sheep's wool, the historical and cultural role that wool played in the evolution of humanity from its necessary use for survival, its social dimension in traditional artefacts, industry, its current obsolescence and the need to reuse it. Sheep's wool by its nature has unique properties which it utilizes by studying the behavior of the line (thread), the form (fabric) of volume (felt), light and formative plasticity, as well as roughness and texture.
