Q&A

Artist Statement

My practice is based in textiles. My research and interest is focussed on recreating the vernacular modern patterns found within the city

What craft do you work with?

Textiles – Quilting

What inspires you to work with this craft?

I have made quilts which feature and celebrate disappearing city facades, and commemorate the striking everyday design often featured in mid century vernacular modern design, most specifically Swansea where I currently live, a city which I returned to in the last decade.

How do you start your creative process?

I use textiles to record and preserve patterns and make the quilts as a way of capturing details of an ever changing cityscape.
