I work mainly as a graphic designer and muralist in my company, Team Art Studio. I have a studio where I design, create and sell my work and articles as well as organizing workshops and artistic activities for different audiences.
What craft do you work with?
I work mainly as a graphic designer and muralist in my company, Team Art Studio. I deal with graphic design and communication linked to images and illustration for children books since 2016. Since a year I have also approached the world of ceramics. Today I have a studio where I design, create and sell my work and articles as well as organizing workshops and artistic activities for different audiences.
What inspires you to work with this craft?
I’ve always drawn, my research is often based on combinations and balances between shape and color. I am passionate about my work and the possibility of using images as a universal language that unites and cancels distances.
How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?
My studio is a completely unique place in Italy. The space, 90 square meters plus 20 of mezzanine, is divided into three areas: shop, living and lab.
The three realities are communicating each other and divided by furniture / shelves designed by us Team Art Studio tailored for the space.
If necessary, the space of the lab becomes wider by rotating a shelf, here courses, workshops, presentation of illustrated books and meetings between artists and creatives take place as well as being the place where our ideas and our products take shape.
Are there new techniques you would like to try?
Certainly yes, but for the moment I would like to deepen some techniques that I do not know very well, such as manual screen printing.
What have you learnt that you would like to share with fellow crafters?
In my experience I have learned that design and prototyping are the basis of artistic research. I like to share what I have learned in my study and personal research, especially when compared to illustration, for me the starting point of every artistic project.
What other types of craft do you dream of collaborating with?
I would like to collaborate with jewellery designers and cabinet-making experts to be able to mix ceramics and illustration with new materials.
