What craft do you work with?

jewelry. I was always interested in the relationship between art and the body. I’ve been working as a jeweller for the last 20 years. I like using very different techniques like wax carving, 3d design, direct fabrication with metals, porcelain.

What inspires you to work with this craft?

The relationship installed between the object and the body. because is a mix of tradition, innovation and ergonomics. Basically metals

How do you start your creative process?

It depends on the piece: I can start drawing with the computer in order to get organic forms impossible to do by hand or I gather already casted natural objects and try to make a beautiful composition with them. The most enjoyable part is when different objets/ stones/ porcelain/glass pieces… start to talk together to form a composition I like and the most difficult is to integrate the mecanisms to hold the piece to the body: clasps, neddles…in a organic way

How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?

My workplace is an organized chaos. I can’t live without a torch

Are there new techniques you would like to try?

Blown glass and different techniques related to that beatiful, amazing and new material to me

What have you learnt or the best advice you have received that you would like to share with fellow crafters?

To be always open to learn new techniques to enrich your creative language and to meet new crafters to discover/colaborate towards new ways of working/thinking.

What other types of craft do you dream of collaborating with?

I would like to colaborate with glass artists and sculptors.

What professional dream do you have?

To be able to travel to different countries to teach what I know and show my work in international art/craft galleries.
