Artist Statement

Create what you love and let your creations be a reflection of your passion.

What craft do you work with?

At the moment, I’m passionate about working with textiles. It’s a medium that provides me with inspiration through its tactile nature, allowing me to explore and create unique pieces that showcase texture, color, and intricate design.

What inspires you to work with this craft?

My journey into this craft is often sparked by visual inspiration derived from captivating images I come across on the internet, particularly on platforms like Pinterest. These visuals ignite my creativity and serve as a starting point for my own unique creations. They fuel my imagination and motivate me to bring my own artistic interpretations to life.

How do you start your creative process?

I prefer to begin by establishing a comprehensive overview of the project and defining the goals I aim to achieve. To ensure clarity and alignment with my vision, I find it helpful to meticulously jot down all the essential details on a piece of paper. This practice serves as a reliable guide, allowing me to stay focused and navigate the creative process with confidence.

How would you best describe your workspace and what tools could you not do without?

I find great satisfaction in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, allowing me to have a clear overview of the materials I have and those I will use for my ongoing project. Essential tools such as high-quality scissors and pens accompany me, while the presence of soothing music helps me concentrate and delve deeper into my creative process.

Are there new techniques you would like to try?

As a newcomer to the world of crafting, I am eager to explore and experiment with various techniques to discover my personal preferences. I am excited to embark on this journey of self-discovery and broadening my creative horizons.

What have you learnt or the best advice you have received that you would like to share with fellow crafters?

When working on a project, it is crucial to allow it the necessary time to unfold. By maintaining consistency and exercising patience, you can ensure that the outcome will consistently be of high quality.
