Artist Statement

I am an aspiring artist studying the arts. Currently I am trying to find my own style of creation.

What craft do you work with?

I generally work with cardboards and plastics, but I am still trying out a lot of mediums, so my craft materials vary

What inspires you to work with this craft?

The architecture is inspired by the baroque architecture, but transformed to match my own interpretation.

How do you start your creative process?

This creation is based on Maria Sybilla Merian and was created during a seminar at University. It depicts a clash of baroque architecture, nature and mechanics. It contains old elements, such as the newly interpreted architecture and the drawings of Maria Sybilla Merian, coupled with newer mechanics, such as the umbrella mechanism. The whole piece is built out of upgraded materials, which were collected over the years, such as the cardboards of spiral-bound notepads
