Leno weave with heavy rope

Storytelling

The sample is woven on a dobby handloom using beads to create the leno effect where warp threads are twisting. Leno weave creates an open transparent yet strong construction. The warp a red wool yarn twist side to side of a heavier white wool. The weft is alternating between a coarse cotton robe a thinner shiny polyester black polyester thread.
