Culture & Context

Inspired by painted rocks that I often found as a child, planted and hidden around parks and play areas. Within my family we have a tradition/superstition of saying the phrase “bread and butter” when splitting a poll or lamppost with an another person, it comes from the idea of saying two things that would usually go together as a way to bound you with the other person as splitting an object is said to predict an argument. This phrase is what inspired this project, I wanted to create a fun and playful treasure hunt for people to join in with and for people to literally find luck.
