Artist Statement

I am an artists that works with many different mediums and media, but mostly works with raw material to produce artworks. My mediums include ceramics, glass and paper. While I continue to use this variety of materials to record my interests, I am exploring them in many different ways, with the intent to examine their possibilities in either two dimensional artworks or in space through sculptural creations. My background in painting, can become apparent in the way I use colours and textures in my work. I find the use of a variety of materials and the exploration of new ones particularly important, as it allows me to make personal marks through their different possibilities and characteristics. Whether my subjects come from within or from the outside world, whether it reveals or comments on an issue, my personal language has a tangible character.I would like to develop highly specialized skills that I have not had the opportunity to before, particularly in glass and ceramics. While I am very prolific at making art, I am looking forward to developing my work in new levels and directions, using valuable feedback from my peers and tutors.
