Yu Mei Huang is a London-based Knit Textile artist.
Having fun and enjoy life is part of our creative process.
Materials include recycled linens, polyesters, or new cotton linen and polyesters. Threads are DMC thread.
I am a bladesmith; I create knives as contemporary tools to be used both in the professional kitchen and the home to prepare meals, to be enjoyed for their creativity as well as their purpose.
The process is the most important part of the project.
I am participating in the Craft Hub Materials Library and Repository and will be submitting material relating to acid etching mouth blown flashed glass
I work in a process-led way across different mediums such as ceramic, textile, metal and glass. I am particularly interested in combining different mediums to add a new dimension and unusual tactility to traditional craft forms.
Crochet / amigurumi
My first contact with ceramics happened at a laboratory in the neighborhood where I grew up. The art of wheel throwing that was taking place in front of my eyes and the magic of creation were the catalysts for my career in ceramics.
