Simos Antoniadis – ULURU

I have studied architecture in Greece and continued my postgraduate studies in Denmark. Since 2019 I have started systematically dealing with ceramics, and recently I founded the ULURU Ceramics Studio in Thessaloniki, Greece. ULURU was launched in 2022 as a ceramics studio, but dreams of becoming an all around design studio in the future.As a trained architect and designer, I tend to obsess with forms and textures -contrary to freeform creations- mainly using the wheel to shape, trim and create utility & decorative items. Objects that look industrial but feel handmade. While working with clay, I often experiment with natural objects and materials (mainly stones, plants, wood, cork and marble) not just as inspiration but as coherent inclusion in the design process.This will hopefully pave a creative path to more variable, unique design products.
