Linen and wool delaine dyed with avocado skins and stones. Collected and dyed in Orgiva, southern Spain. Linen pre mordanted with oak gall powder and alum. Wool pre mordanted with alum.

Process & Production

Plant material used @ 400% WOF (weight of fibre). Soaked avocado stones and skins for two weeks. Simmered at 80C for one hour, sodium carbonate used in extraction. Fibres added and left in overnight dye bath.

Cellulose fibres -two step pre mordanted with oak gall powder @12%WOF  and aluminium potassium sulfate @ 20% WOF.

Protein fibres pre mordanted with aluminium potassium sulfate @ 15% WOF.
