Paige Wood
My practice is informed by the working-class communities I come from, a response to the mundane, nonsensical and strange, they are a way of finding joy and humor within these things. Throughout my practice i hold great importance in storytelling and sharing and for my pieces to spark conversations.
Q&A
Artist Statement
My creative practice mostly focuses on childhood, memories, family and growing up working class. My practice is a means for me to share stories from my life. I do this using multiple mediums but mostly focusing on ceramic and mixed media sculptures, my work is often humorous. I often use my memory of how an object looks rather than how it actually looks to convey a childish or childlike point of view. My work could be described as crafty and Lo-fi mostly using hand building techniques but still being open to every method to interpret my idea. I enjoy learning while creating.
