Process & Production

Glass painting technique. The glass paint was mixed with water a little gum arabic was added to the paint mix. The trace lines are painted with a rigger brush and kiln fired at 600c. A matt is painted all over the glass and brushed with a badger brush to achieve an even coat of paint. Highlights and fine lines are removed to create detail with bristle brushes and fine stick and fired in the kiln. A blue and yellow enamel are applied to the body of the bird where needed and the sample is again fired.
